The BBA in Branding & Advertising is a three-year program introduced by Narsee Monjee Institute for Management Studies (NMIMS). The program has been launched in collaboration with Ad-Guru Prahlad Kakkar's School of Branding and Entrepreneurship.
This course combines strategy and creativity in business with financial management, economics, critical thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It aims to develop students’ insight and skills in launching, building and managing brands and businesses. The program presents a balanced combination between humanities and the world of commerce for undergraduate students with an interest in new business and communication ventures.
As a part of the experiential component of the qualifications, students work in multi-disciplinary teams engaging in real-world brand challenges and undertake an internship in their final year. 60 % of the curriculum is based on real-life learning uniquely developed through experiences of high adrenaline activities like, sky diving, mountaineering, survival boot camp, deep-sea diving, reptile sensitization, tribal living and running a restaurant apart from the intensive, cutting edge content filled 40 % theory.
According to well-known Career Counselor Rachita Rasiwasia, the program has been designed keeping in mind the requirement of today's times. Digital marketing is the need of the hour and an Institute like NMIMS has decided to fulfill this need of the industry. She highly recommends the course to the students she counsels.
The course is like an amalgamation of management and mass communication. A student, who has an interest in mass media or communication, or public speaking etc can definitely look for this course.

- Entrance Test - NPAT
Candidates aspiring to join NMIMS School of Branding & Advertising must appear for NPAT, the official entrance test for admissions to Undergraduate Degree and Integrated Degree Programs at NMIMS. The entrance exam will be followed by Divergent Thinking Test and PI.
The entrance exam has 3 sections, namely, Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. All sections of 40 questions each and the total exam duration is 100 minutes.
- Divergent Thinking Test
Divergent thinking tests are probably the most commonly used estimate of the potential for creative thinking. They can be used to measure originality and can be used in such a way that intrinsic interests are tapped. This written test will have several open-ended questions for the participants and we look for the rarity of original and creative responses, answers, solutions, and ideas.
- Personal Interview
According to the institute, "We give utmost importance to communication and this face-to-face interview is to know if the candidate is truly capable or superficial." Keeping this in mind, interviews will be conducted for admission into this course.
Ms. Rasiwasia says that the NPAT exam syllabus consists of topics from 10th grade. So, anyone with a decent understanding of the topics should be able to solve the questions. But in today's competitive scenario, it is highly advisable to be well prepared.
For which she recommends writing NPAT mocks papers and sample papers. "Solving NPAT sample papers or NPAT mock papers, will give a fairly good understanding of one's own strengths and weaknesses. It will also give an idea about the pace at which one has to go through the exam. Solving NPAT model papers will result in enhanced confidence and confidence will reflect in better performance," Says she.
