About the Institute

 

Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune, is one of the oldest research and training institutes in Economics in the country. Its primary objectives are research in the socio-economic dimensions of the Indian society and training to researchers in this domain. Established in 1930 by the Servants of India Society, the Institute is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.

 

Eligibility

 

Candidates willing to seek admission to the B. Sc. (Economics) Programme at GIPE must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in their 12th Standard board examination or equivalent examinations.

 

The candidates appearing for the HSC board examination or equivalent board examinations during 2020-21 and their results are awaited shall also be eligible to apply to the entrance examination. However, the candidates must convey to the Institute the results of the qualifying exams as soon as the results are declared, preferably by e-mail, to consider their applications for entrance examination and admission.

 

About Entrance Examination

 

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. (Economics) programme shall be required to appear for GIPE Entrance Examination B.Sc. (Economics) 2021.
